The Department of Oral Pathology and Dental Anatomy at RUHS Dental College & Hospital, Jaipur was started with inception of the dental college under Dr. S Bhattacharya in 1983. After his retirement in 1995, Dr. Uma Gupta who is now the present Head of the department took the charge and Dr. M R Dhaliya took charge of Dental Anatomy in the year 1997. The department has a well designed chambers allotted for clinical examination, student's laboratory, and museum with numerous mounted specimens, models and posters.
This specialty of dentistry includes Dental Anatomy, Histology & Oral Pathology. Dental Anatomy and Histology forms the foundation to better understanding of clinical dentistry in the first year and Oral Pathology is taught in second and third year students to identify various pathologic conditions clinically as well as on histopathologic examination.
The department of Oral Pathology provides a centre for teaching scholarly activities, deals with patient care and is concerned with the diagnosis of a wide range of abnormalities in the oral and maxillofacial region.
